CDS Now In It's 38th Year Serving The Construction Industry The Numbers Tell The Story In the 38 years that CDS has been consulting to firms in the construction industry, our staff members have traveled over 11,520,000 air miles; traversed over 225,000 ground miles; flown with 16 different types of airplanes, while staying in over 325 hotels, with 20,400 overnight stays in 38 states, to be with over 325 consulting clients located in over 250 towns or cities, not counting our "side trips" to Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe, and New Zealand, (or the 2,500 auto rentals, cab and limousine rides we took to get to our clients' offices).
This list does not include an additional 14% involved in other areas of specialty construction (e.g. sprinklers, drywall, tile, ceiling, floor, marine, etc.) and even one company specializing in providing food, clothing and shelter to research scientists who do their work in the icy reaches of the Antarctica.
Our research shows us that our clients have generated a return of approximately 15 times their investment in our services, for a value added of approximately 270 million dollars in 38 years. Upon arrival at our clients' offices, we have interviewed over 350 Presidents and CEO's of construction companies, 600 estimators, 1100 project managers, 3300 foremen (representing over 32,000 craftspersons), 240 controllers or accounting managers, 24 equipment managers, 35 shop foremen, and 2200 staff workers supporting the contract and financial administration of their respective companies, including resident engineers, Cad Cam operators, MIS specialists, construction secretaries, data entry specialists, etc.
